The sad facts are that there never was a Reagan/Bush economy. All they did was merge and claim market gains. They have done nothing but attempt to prosper Communists, Socialists, and Royalist since 1973 and before with their support of foreign automobiles. We used to have thousands of automotive jobs in my state but now we have much less due to foreign competition. They claim Americans won't work but they expect us to compete with slave labor wages in Communist, Socialist, or Royal Countries. We need to keep the foreign producers and imports out if they block our exports so be it we do not wish to labor endlessly to begin with. We also need to convert to something other that oil since that too supports Royal ambition or Socialist slavery.

Of course that means that state terrorists should be treated as such and prosecuted (e.g. George Bush).

Treating terrorism like a crime instead of like a war is better because it implies a narrow, appropriate scale of force that will create a minimum of innocent victims, and hence a minimum of new terrorism as a result.

Depression". Anybody want to take a crack at it. I did but doubt my submission

Unions are a tough and delicate problem but Paul Krugman makes
some good points. While history is important we also want to "Be Here Now",
and in the '00's, one of the big problems is the banks were just bailed out with no strings
attached, they were expected to lend and now they are not lending.

Looks like the Bush Republic is continuing by transferring power to the Democrats. It seems the same platform is being set up that does not address Bush abuse of power, and the Patriot Act denial of Civil Liberties.

As I stated in my last post, the Republican governor of Minnesota and his cronies are trying to steal the election for Senator from Al Franken and hand it to the incumbent- Coleman. For those of you progressives who have been unfamiliar with him, Al Franken has tirelessly, forcefully and creatively championed progressive causes during the Bush years. He is a hilarious comedian with a dry wit who has been a movie star and a Saturday Night Live regular. During the Bush years he founded Air America, the progressive talk radio network, and has authored several best-selling books such as Lies and the Lieing Liars Who Tell Them.
Norm Coleman on the other hand otok advantage of the progressive hero the late Senator Paul Wellstone's tragic death in 2002 and joined with Rove, Bush nd company to drag the country toards war.
Mr. Franken probably won't win the recount of this close election, but there are a whopping 12,000 disqualified absentee ballots that Gov. Tim Pawlenty and his stooges would like to remain disfranchised. The state canvassing board looks to lack the courage to add these votes. Mr. Franken has the option to sue in the courts to have these ballots included. His legal team has been granted access to the information pertaining to the disputed absentee ballots, and he should prevail.
But we all know how the Republicans operate progressives! They will throw a ton of cash into the legal system to attempt to steal this Senate seat from Mr. Franken, and who knows the party politics of the judges who might hear the case. But there is hope: the Senate has the constitutional authority to setle ballot disputes. Democrats have a clear majority in that body now after the election. I urge all committed progressives to google Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's name, and it will provide you with his very long e-mail address. Insist that the Senate not let Coleman and the Republicans steal another election from a progressive. It would provide another progressive vote in the Senate for President Obama's legislative agenda and give woking people a true champion for their causes in high office. Please take the time to do so. After 8 yaars of Bush aren't you sick of stolen elections?!!

Who supported Hillary and then Obama for POTUS

So Hillary is in as Sec. of State and Obama is finishing up the last of his picks for his staff, yet I can't help but feel a little uneasy about Hillary as a choice. I know that she has the experience that will make sure she makes good decisions in high tension situations, but for someone that ran such a venomous campaign I can't help but think she is out to represent herself more than the policy of Obama. I mean after all, her job is really to bring the Obama message when he is not able to do it himself and in situations she would be better equipped to do it. Do we think that Hillary is really going go to drop her agenda and work for the president? One has to wonder that she is able to swallow a little pride and handle that. What do you think?

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I sent out 100 e-mails to local democrats and we have had about a 15 return on those e-mails to the "Friends of the Democrat Party in Midland, Texas" and a few more friend requests that I hope to turn into group members. So, many of you are probably asking: "OK, now what?" The answer is simple. Just start getting involved wherever you can. Here are some opportunities:
1) We have an Holiday event scheduled on the site for December 11th at the Stagecoach west restaurant. Everyone should attend! It will be a great chance to sit down with some politically "like-minded" folks.
2) You can begin conversational blog chat as easy as clicking a button or two by posting on the site or even commenting on blogs
3) You can make some new friends! There are 15 people on the site. click on their names and send them a friend request and start chatting with you neighbors.
4) E-mail some of your friends that are Dems and have them create profiles on the Partybuilder - also let me know if you have had any problems creating your profile. A number of people have their screen name set as "Democrat in Midland." This is ok but it is confusing as to who is who when there are 10 "Democrats in Midland"
5) Most of all keep you head held high. Now is a great time to be a Democrat and we should all be proud of what our party has accomplished nationwide, but always be mindful that we can do more here in our own community by providing a voice of reason to a community that is not yet supportive of our more free thinking ways.
